Addiction and Obesity are both diseases that tend to be chronic conditions not unlike high blood pressure or diabetes. Having these problems in life are not “our fault”. We did not ask for them anymore than we would ask to be a diabetic or have cancer. Many conditions, including genetics, upbringing, and early relationships affected who we are today. They were the “cards” we were dealt in life but they do not have to be our destiny. We get to choose how we play our hand. Its your life, live it!
Dr. Blixt understands that medication is just one recovery tool available to his clients. He works with individuals to develop and strengthen their personal recovery goals as they pursue whole body and mind health.
